Q. What's the difference between "Medieval" and "Renaissance" style?
  A. Medieval: Robin Hood and Maid Marian. Renaissance: Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth I. Generally, the medieval look was narrow and elongated, whereas Renaissance clothing used much padding and stiffening for a broad silhouette, especially in the shoulders and hips. If you're unsure how to coordinate items from our catalog, we'll be happy to help you create the right look.

Q. Will White Pavilion specially make a garment that I have designed/seen in a movie/found in an illustration?
  A. If it's close in style to a garment in our catalog, send us the best picture you can and we'll consider it. If it's not close to anything we have - especially if it requires careful fitting - you're better off working with a local person.

Q. I'm hard to fit (large/small size, unusual proportions). Does White Pavilion specially resize their garments?
  A. Yes, for a fee of from $15 to $45, depending on how much resizing is required. Small alterations such as length of hemline or sleeve are free.

Q. Can White Pavilion outfit wedding parties, performance troupes and other large groups?
  A. Yes. However, you may want to consider providing some or all of the fabric, especially for functions such as weddings, in which overall color coordination is important. Items for which you provide the fabric are 25% off the regular price.

Q. Are discounts available on large orders?
  A. When you order ten or more of the same item, you will receive a 10% discount (not applicable in cases where you're already eligible for 25% off - see above).

Q. Does White Pavilion have a store I can visit?
  A. We have no storefront. However, we do set up shop in a number of fairs and festivals, mostly in the midwest and southeast. Tell us where you are and we'll give you the date and location of the event we attend nearest to you.

Q. Why haven't I received a reply to my e-mail?
  A. Sometimes messages go astray. Recently we were alerted to the fact that our "info@" e-mail was being misdirected to an account no longer active. That problem has been corrected, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our visitors. We try to answer all queries within 24 hours, and we also acknowledge all orders. If you don't hear from us, call 1-800-810-3758 to leave a message (wait at least 8 rings). When we're away at an event we must usually wait until evening to reply to our e-mail and voice mail. So if you're calling, please state your name and telephone number clearly (speak slowly - often we're at remote locations, where connections are poor), and tell us how late in the evening you're willing to be called.

Q. Does White Pavilion have a bodice that will support like a corset?
  A. No. Our Damsel Bodice has the most boning, and offers a fair amount of support. But you should always buy your actual size for the best fit.
